This trip is for relaxin' and chillin' in the summer heat. The are no rapids, just a scenic river, cool people, a chance to get wet and get some exercise paddling. Batsto River is in Wharton State Forest which is the largest single tract of land within the New Jersey State Park System. It is also the site of Batsto Village, a former bog iron and glassmaking industrial center.

Our trip on Batsto River will be 3-4 hours long, depending on how fast we paddle. We'll stop half way to eat lunch (BYO), plus intermittent swims as requested. Snacks and water will be provided.

Paddlefest is also going on that day near the shop. There will be a Paddlesports swap meet and charity kayak race on the Mullica River that you can check out. There will also be free on site test paddling available if you're interested in buying, selling or trading a watercraft.

Let's beat the heat together with some cool paddling. Feel free to bring your supersoaker!
