Carl Ewald

Born on a family sojourn through China, the traveling bug was implanted in Carl early. Over the past ten years, he has traveled throughout Northern and Central America, Western Europe, and Australia. Carl is also an adventure sports enthusiast. He has completed marathons in Ireland and Alaska, hiked though jungles in Australia, Belize, Guatemala Honduras and Mexico, skydived, rafted glacial and tropical rapids and chased the northern lights through Iceland.

Carl worked as an environmental attorney in Philadelphia. While an attorney, in the spring of 2001, he first took up SCUBA diving and immediately fell in love. Carl returned as planned to his career. But, the lure of adventure had been reawakened in him and the pull of the blue was too strong. In 2003 Carl took a sabbatical from his law practice to travel full time and would up teaching Scuba in the Carribean.

After less than a year of teaching, Carl was already the top instructor at Utila Dive Center, which itself was rated the top SCUBA diving school in the world by PADI in October 2004. Now, he has set off on his own with a mission to make adventure accessible to those of us who yearn for something better, for a deeper, richer experience. Join TerraMar and join him on the adventure of your lifetime!
